Retired Posts: 338 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Stephenville, TX | Hello, Perhaps this is not a good sign, but I haven't heard from Cliff in a while and I need to know the status of the club. I have been told a few rumors, but I don't get to DFW very often and would rather see if anyone knows what is going on than to travel and start knocking on doors. Thanks,

New User Posts: 4 | I am glad someone else finally asked this question. If DFWREIN isn't dead yet, it soon will be. Cliff has continually not replied to emails, not kept appointments with me, failed to contact me to cancel a scheduled lunch meeting(s) and has not called several times after he sent text messages saying what time he will call. He is so bad at returning calls and replying to emails that I would have to say he is worse than DFWREIN's former owner (and that was BAD). I don't think DFWREIN had a legitimate chance to survive after the ownership change though. Addresses on the DFWREIN email list was never given out or sold before the transfer last year and after Cliff took over, an email address that I ONLY used to be added to the DFWREIN list started to get several emails per week from other real estate related sites. The main ones are the Jeff Adams investor site and the "new" investors club in town. It is pretty obvious that the list was sold (or WE were sold). To my knowledge, Cliff wasn't the one who sold the database. It is really a shame that DFWREIN couldn't stay around in this market but as I said, I don't think it had a fighting chance after Cliff bought it. Questions or private comments? Email me at: thedfwmentor@aol.com Public comments? Please reply on this thread. Hope this sheds some light on the thread authors' question.

I just joined and I was told to head this way to DFWREIN to start furthing my education on REI. After getting out of service and busting my but to learn this has been quite a journey. I will stick with this site for a while longer and hope that its not over. Because I am running out of options to find good people to learn from and grow. Zach Mills

Did you pay someone to join? I still have access to the on line DFWREIN Club records and you are not listed as a new paid member. Did you pay someone a fee to join something? If you mean you just joined this web site, then all you did was register to post on this forum which is what you can expect at any decent forum on the Internet. I was specifically referring to the physical DFWREIN, not the web site. I am the host and, until paid, possessor of all the web site content. The web site is in my hands and it is not going any where.

I have never heard a problem with Cathy returning phone calls or missing meetings. How often did you try to meet with her? I have rarely spoken to Cliff, but Heidi and the DFWREIN staff were always available. There was little reason to speak directly to Cliff. He always struck me as a very hands-off manager/owner. The exact opposite of Cathy. DFWMentor - 2009-04-28 9:35 AM I don't think DFWREIN had a legitimate chance to survive after the ownership change though. To my knowledge, Cliff wasn't the one who sold the database. That may be a violation of CAN-SPAM. If you can prove it, those senders are violating federal law. Cathy jealously guarded that list and I think she promised to keep the list in house. DFWREIN would need to get permission from the list to sell the list. I could be wrong. I never saw the contract for the sale of DFWREIN.

Elite Veteran Posts: 465 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Carrollton, TX | I have never sold the list to anyone other than to Cliff. What he did with the list or what the employees did with the list I do not know. I just want to go on record on this subject.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 287 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Flower Mound, TX 75028 | CATHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's good to hear from you!!! I hope you are doing well. I don't know about the club any more. When my membership expired, I decided not to renew. I could kick myself for not having taken advantage of some of the classes offered even though I did take a number of them. $600.00 per year was too rich for my pocket. Nothing personal, just have other things to spend that much on. Anyway, I now go to Texas Real Estate Investors Circle, http://realestate.meetup.com/418. This is NOT a paid solicitation. Many of the people from DFWREIN are there. Meetings are so far, free. Second Wednesday of the month. 972-669-1017 This is not intended to take anything from DFWREIN, only to show another place to visit. Best of luck to each and all. Cathy, again, it is good to hear from you. Ken Hoover

New User Posts: 4 | If you watched the news tonight you would have seen some not very good things said about Cliff. Doesn't look good. Anyway I am new to this and really would like to start learning as much as I can. I am 25 and would like to build a relationship with other REI's. Ken that other site/group sounds cool. Could you give me more info on it? The link didn't work.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 287 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Flower Mound, TX 75028 | Rob, try this one. www.texasrealestateinvestorscircle.com The phone # is above or you can just google Texas real esstate investors circle.com By the way and I don't mean this to be directed at anyone, if you go and you learn, then learn, but don't give money or your credit line to anyone. There are people there that will willingly help you in any endeavor you are interested in. But YOU have to do the investing or whatever. And you can purchase the guru courses on ebay for pennies on the dollar. Ken Hoover

Investor Posts: 8 | Dear God... I am a blind American Patriot, Those poor Americans. You know what burns me is we call the people in Iraq bad people. Well if you want to find bad people it seems you can look on your local internet site. I wonder how many more criminals were in on his scams that are on here. I guess this site is pretty much screwed. I was hoping to meet some real good people here but now it seems I cant trust a soul. I didnt expect to come home to criminals as bad as the ones I just left over there. If you are doing this to people you better take a look at your life and see that sometimes its your best interest to have the law find you before people like me do. Retired Posts: 338 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Stephenville, TX | My first question to any person who thinks he has been ripped off is: Have you considered suing your lawyer? I immediately find out if the "investor" did the one thing everyone who signs a contract must do. Get an opinion from a trusted legal adviser. Chances are the person who lost the life's savings didn't get legal advice. My lawyer will tell me all the horrific things that can go worng in very vivid details. I never leave his office guesing about a contract. There will always be people who wish to take advantage of you in this world. Nothing you can say to them or about them will change who they are.
